Black History Month: African Americans and the Arts.

This is an invitation from WMM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI) to join us in what we hope will become an annual email event to recognize and celebrate Black History Month, which occurs annually in February.

The annual theme of Black History Month is established by the ASALH (Association for the Study of African American Life and History).  The theme for 2024 is: African Americans and the Arts.  Please see this executive summary by the ASALH.  The summary is a brief descriptive, historical overview of this year's theme, including the breadth of influences from around the world that are infused into African American Art--traditional and contemporary.
