Responding to Recent Gun Violence in Vermont...

Westtown Monthly Meeting is holding in the Light - Hisham Awartani, Kinnan Abdel Hamid, and Tahseen Ahmed - the three Palestinian students who were the victims of a senseless gun attack in Burlington, Vermont, the evening of November 25, 2023.

All three are graduates of Ramallah Friends School, a Quaker school community with which our Westtown Friends Meeting has a longstanding relationship. We extend our deepest prayers for healing and peace to each of the young men, their families, and their school communities: Ramallah Friends School, Brown University, Haverford College, and Trinity College.

As Quakers, we are committed to the belief that there is that of God in all people and that the challenging work of peacebuilding must be grounded in nonviolence and justice. Only then will we succeed in realizing the beloved community we seek.
